ROSE OF THE WEEK: Dick Clark

Named for the famous television personality, we are featuring Mr. Clark’s namesake rose since he was long the host of New Year’s Rockin’ Eve festivities, now hosted by Ryan Seacrest.  He also hosted the long-running American Bandstand!

On this vigorous grower, no two flowers are exactly alike. Black-red buds spiral open to show off swirls of cream edged & washed with vibrant cherry pink. Sun causes petals to blush burgundy, finishing as a deep red. Shiny green foliage and moderately fragrant blooms are highly entertaining and wonderful in the home. Long cutting stems on this Grandiflora. Large 4” – 5” blooms on a plant that can grow up to 6 feet high and resistant to blackspot and mildew. Parentage: Fourth of July X Unknown.   2011 AARS Winner.

Mr. Clark was able to plant his namesake rose in his garden in 2011.  (Read more about it in this Seattle Times article.) The rose was also introduced to the world on a float in the Pasadena Rose parade!

Available as bareroot until late January and potted.  Order today for PICK UP.
